Shared Notations is the default notations set for folders that inherit it. Use it when the same categories and reusable entries suit most of your inspections.
Images that use the shared set can have different notation selections and comments. Sharing a set does not mean assigning the same entries to every image.
When shared notations apply
Images use the shared set unless their folder or a parent folder specifies another set or stops inheriting notations. Folder Notations can extend the shared set when inheritance is enabled.
If different inspections need different sets, store them in the Notations briefcase and link the appropriate set to each folder.
Edit shared notations
1.Open the Tools menu.
2.Select Shared Notations.
3.Edit the categories, entries, default selections, or comments.
4.Click OK to save your changes.
For editor instructions, see Creating a notations set.
Important: Editing the shared set affects all folders that use or inherit it, not just the current folder. To make changes for one inspection folder only, use a separate notations set or Folder Notations. |
Choose another shared set
1.Open the Tools menu.
2.Select Notations Briefcase.
3.Select the set you want to use as the default.
4.Click Make Shared on the toolbar.
The selected set becomes the shared default in place of the previous set. This changes the default for folders that inherit shared notations; it does not replace sets linked separately to other folders.
